WHO WE ARE:
Hello, and welcome to the St. Croix Falls Region 1437 Soccer club, a local region of the
American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).
Our Club helps contribute to one of the largest single youth sports organizations in the United States. Players are taught the ethics of teamwork and building good character.
AYSO has programs to encourage good sportsmanship -- not only among players and coaches, but also from fans and parents.
AYSO is a non-profit organization that provides youth soccer programs for participants all over the United States and internationally in the Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago. Consisting of over 50,000 teams and 500,000 players nationwide. AYSO is one of the leading youth soccer organizations in the world. It is often called “the biggest soccer club in the world.”

WHAT MAKES AYSO DIFFERENT?
AYSO is a soccer program for the entire family. AYSO’s goal is for every girl and boy stepping on a soccer field to learn soccer and have a fun, fair and safe experience. But, it’s also to ensure that the whole family can be involved creating memories that last a lifetime. AYSO's kid-first approach makes us a leader in player development. Everybody likes to win, but developing successful players and people is what's fundamentally important. We also create a terrific experience for parents who can be involved with their child as a coach, referee or in other volunteer capacities. Training is important to ensure that excellent experience, but it’s easy and usually free. We want to make sure it’s as much fun for mom and dad as it is for your players! With player development in mind, AYSO makes sure that no kid signs up to play soccer and ends up only riding the bench! That’s not how you learn the game. In AYSO, every player on every team plays at least 50 percent of every game.
VOLUNTEERING!
AYSO runs on volunteer power! Nearly 150,000 registered volunteers run local AYSO programs all over the country. Every coach, referee, Regional Commissioner – the list goes on – is a volunteer. Even the National Board of Directors and National President are AYSO volunteers. If it wasn’t for the thousands of volunteers throughout the U.S. donating their time every season, AYSO wouldn’t be as successful and far-reaching as it is today.
Although it's an unpaid volunteer position, the "pay" is great! The rewards and benefits come from helping local kids learn valuable life skills, while getting fit and having fun! And, of course, learning to play and enjoy soccer!
HOW ARE KIDS PLACED ONTO TEAMS?
The effective date of age determination for registration shall be the player's age as of December 31 looking ahead of the Membership Year.
6U= 5 and 6 years old
8U= 7 and 8 years old
10U= 9 and 10 years old
12U= ll and 12 years old
14U= 13 and 14 years old
18U= 15, 16, 17 and some 18 year olds (must not turn 18 years old until after the season ends mid- June)
The board develops the teams and assigns kids within a division on to teams based on things such as age, gender, special requests, and known skill level. Because our region does not hold a skills assessment, it is difficult to know the skill level of every registered child. The board does it's best to make the teams as balanced as possible.
